Goodbye, Summer...Hello, Fall

Goodbye, Summer...Hello, Fall.

The summer is officially over.  We've already had our first hard freeze up here in Almost Canada.  I know the blog was completely neglected over the summer.  I have many posts to catch up on, but since that will happen when pigs fly is quite unlikely given the current circumstances of our lives, I'll just hit the highlights:

The summer has brought us many sweet visitors to help fill our calendar and pass the time:
Grandpa and Grandma came in June.
 The cousins came in July.

Two of my Besties came up in August.
Grandpa and Grandma came again in September.
And Mommy and Reagan Grace got to take a trip to see two more sweet friends while G&G held down the fort at home.
Awesome!

We also filled the summer with activities:
In June, the boys began taking karate.  They have advanced from white belt, to high-white, to yellow.
Also in June, the boys attended VBS with friends and had a blast!
We have made the most of our SHORT outdoor season and played outside A LOT!
(I just have to say that this photo is such a neat picture of our kids.  Connor rigged the swings so he could swing Zoë Kate along with him, and then there is Keegan off in the background blissfully getting pummeled by the sprinkler!)
We went to the Sesame Street USO show written just for military kids' and their unique lives.
We enjoyed time with our church small group.
We grew a garden full of lettuces, herbs, onions, carrots, green beans, eggplants, peppers, strawberries, broccoli, sunflowers, pumpkins and cucumbers.

Not everything yielded fruit, but we did enjoy much of our tasty harvest!

So that was our summer in a tiny nutshell.  We have survived 150 days without Daddy and are officially 2/3 of the way done.  Hallelujah!
(And since Daddy mailed Mommy a new computer, we'll work hard to keep up the blog this fall!)
